Hi there! We’re Tom and Jess Reid — adventure seekers, camping enthusiasts, and proud parents of three wild little explorers. We’re based in Brisbane, Australia, and we share our love of travel on our blog, Where the Wild Reids Are.
Once upon a time (read: pre-kids), we hit pause on our 9-5 lives, rented out our house, handed over the fur-babies to family, and took off on what we affectionately now call our Before Baby Bucket List — a gap year packed with passport stamps, street food, and spontaneous detours across the globe.
That “mid-mid life crisis” turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made.
Fast forward a few years — we’re still chasing adventure, but now with a camper trailer, three kids, and a lot more snacks. Our travels these days are a little slower, a lot messier, but endlessly more rewarding. From snorkelling the reef at Lady Musgrave Island, to water-skiing across Lake Moogerah, to hiking the misty trails of the Bunya Mountains, we’re making memories together one muddy boot, roadside tantrum, and starlit campsite at a time.
We created this blog to share both the big and small moments — from our global getaways to our backyard adventures around Australia — and to inspire other families to explore the world (or their own postcode) with curiosity, courage, and a sense of humour.
Thanks for following along — the wild ride continues!
