Our bags are packed and yes, we had a win (hazar!) – everything fits, we’re under the weight limit and the seams don’t look like they’re going to burst.
I must admit, one thing I was dreading about living out of a backpack for seven months, was the idea of constantly digging through a tonne of clothes, ripping out half the contents to reach something I need which happens to be right at the very bottom.
Luckily Tom is a smart one and hit up some travel blogs for the best packing tips. We came across one idea which I think will save us A LOT of pain and suffering down the track.
They’re called packing cells (or packing cubes/ tavel bags) :
These things are AMAZING!
While some of the travel stores charge up to $40 per bag, we found an Australian supplier on Ebay who sold a five pack for $14 (it pays to shop around).
These mesh packing cubes allowed us to roll and fit all our clothes, separate summer from winter and fit neatly into our backpacks with room to spare. I reiterate… AMAZING!
All that’s left to do now is pack our carry-on bag, double check all our tickets and booking confirmations and have a nice glass of red.
